The Kitchen Table

Notes from Mrs. Bramble

Mrs. Bramble's kitchen is the warmest in Collyvale. Even Grimple likes to sit by her stove. Every so often, she leaves a little note on the Kitchen Table for the grown-ups.

On asking for help

Dear you,

Round here, we're always popping over with a cake pan or a spare pair of hands. Nobody thinks less of the one who asks. In fact, most folk are glad to be asked. If you need a hand, say so. That's what neighbors are for.

Warmly,

Mrs. Bramble

On the hard days

Dear you,

Some days the house is loud, the laundry is winning and you can't remember the last time you finished a cup of tea. I just wanted to say: I see you. You're doing more than anyone knows. Put your feet up for five minutes if you can. The dishes will wait.

With love from the kitchen,

Mrs. Bramble
